The current research aims to identify “the effect of narration, recitation, and literature circles strategies on literary awareness among students of the fifth literary grade” and by the investigation of following null hypothesis - There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of the three research groups in the post literary awareness test.

The researcher followed the experimental research method and chose an experimental design with partial control.

The researcher intentionally chose the two schools (Jumana and Thuwaibah Al-Aslamiya), which are affiliated with the General Directorate of Education in Diyala Governorate Baquba District, to represent the field of experiment, as the first school consisted of only one class for the fifth literary grade, and the second school represented the control group.

The second school consisted of two divisions, so Division (A) represented the first experimental group, and Division (B) represented the second experimental group.

The study sample consisted of (105) female students, with (35) students for the first experimental group, (35) for the second experimental group, and (35) female students in the control group.

The researcher used and compared between many variables among research groups, (chronological age calculated in months, grades of the previous year in Arabic language, parents’ academic achievement level, linguistic ability test, Daniels intelligence test and tribal written expression test(.

The researcher identified the scientific material included in the experiment with six literary topics from the Arabic language subject book for the fifth grade of high school school (Part One) out of a total of eight topics, and made the behavioral goal with total of (77) goal according to the particular educational subject and Bloom classification for the six levels, and then prepared instructional plans for the three research groups.

The researcher prepared a test to measure literary awareness, which included (30) paragraphs that varied between (25) objective paragraphs of multiple-choice questions and (5) essay questions paragraphs, and in the process of correction the test answers, she verified its validity and stability The experiment continued for one school year (2021-2022 AD), and the researcher used some of the statistical methods of the statistical program (updated spss), the nineteenth edition The results revealed in the superiority of the two experimental groups over the control group in the literary awareness test.

The research showed many conclusions such as,(narration and recitation) and (literature circles) strategies grabs the attention of the students to the lesson via the questions that targets their cognitive processes such as, concluding, analysis and summarization which lead in the end to understand and absorb the deep meaning and be affected by them that leaded to increase their literary awareness.

And also, the two strategies gave the students the ability to study and think correctly which increased their understanding of study subject and that elevated their literary awareness.

The researcher also suggested some recommendations, including increasing the care of Arabic language teachers and female teachers in teaching literature and focusing on increasing literary awareness by allocating various applied texts that can enable female students to analyze and taste the literary text, as well as directing teachers and female supervisors who have specialized in not rely exclusively on the traditional methods, and the need to diversify the use of modern educational strategies, especially (narration, recitation and literature circles), which have proven their effectiveness in increasing literary awareness.

The researcher also suggested conducting a similar study to the current study at the undergraduate level (the effect of the strategies of narration, recitation and literature circles in the subject of Andalusian literature and the academic achievement of students of the College of Basic Education.
