Abstract EN

The current research aims to know (the effect of the focused listening strategy on reading comprehension on first-grade intermediate students).

To achieve the research goal, the researcher had put the following null postulate: ((There is no statistically significant difference among the average reading comprehension scores of the experimental group students who study the subjects of the reading material using the focused listening strategy and the average reading comprehension scores of the control group students who studied the subjects of the reading subject in the usual way in the reading comprehension test)).

The researcher had followed the experimental method as it is the appropriate and fit approach to the nature and purpose of her research.

She had chosen one of the partial control designs, which is the design of the control group and the randomness group, the choice had just come with a post-test.

The researcher identified the research community with first intermediate grade female students in elementary, intermediate, and high day schools which belong to the General Directorate of Education in the Governorate of Baghdad / Al-Karkh First.

The researcher had selected her research sample that consisting of (30) students from Al- Hudaybiyah Elementary School in Al-Bakriyah / Al-Ghazaliya district.

These students were distributed randomly into two groups.

(Control and experimental group): (15) students in the experimental group and (15) students in the control group.
