Abstract EN

This paper examines the permissible fronting and its significance in Yazid bin Al- Tatharit's poetry, as he is one of the most prominent poets in the Umayyad age.

The study dealt with this phenomenon in its different contexts, by dividing it into three sections: the permissible fronting in the nominal sentence, and its significance; the permissible fronting in the verbal sentence and its significance and the permissible fronting in the complements of the verbal sentence and its significance.The most important findings are as follows: -Fronting in the verbal sentence is the most common -fronting of prepositional phrase (placing it before the verb) is the most frequent then comes fronting the predicate (placing it before the subject.) This significance of this phenomenon lies in the poet ability to employ it in achieving exaggeration, specification and summarization .
