Abstract EN

The article look for sheding light on the sacred which was the base of the emergence of the national state in Algeria by traying to analyse its impact in the 1954 liberation revolution through the study of two models; the first is related ti the terms spreaded during the revolution in popular and revolutionary circles, such as the « mujahid » and « martyr ».

And the second is related to the manifestations of the sacred in some revolutionary practices which not anly clarifies the positive aspects of its use in feeding and strengthening the revolutionary flame, but also confirms its pivotal role in the popular rally around the revolution.
