Abstract EN

This study explores Iranian soft power after the changes that occurred in the theory of soft power and the rise of Sharp power theory in International Relations.

The study does that through analyzing the pillars of Iranian sharp power in the context, while trying to address the concepts and criteria of both sharp and soft powers.

In addition, it tries to analyze the changes that have occurred in the soft power implementation and practices, in the totalitarian system countries.

The study concluded that the soft power which is currently practice in Iran's strategy of regional hegemony, does not try to attract others and to win hearts and minds; but to manipulate the targeted societies.

That itself matches the criteria of sharp power theory.
