Abstract EN

The issue of women's political participation is of great and renewed importance, as interest in it has increased and multiplied dramatically, due to her prominent role in political activities and participation, as well as the interest of the international community in general with its organizations, whether international or regional, where a set of charters, laws and regulations have been enacted.

Agreements obligating states to provide and respect the political rights of women in all countries of the world, including Algeria, which previously imposed quotas in the electoral system in an effort to ensure a higher participation of women in political life.

The amendments are in favor of women.

The quota system was abolished and replaced with a system of parity (50%) and equality between women and men following the amendments, in addition to the state providing financial assistance to young people, including women, in their electoral campaigns.

However; Women in Arab countries, and even Algeria, were and still suffer from weak leadership and decision-making positions, as there are a number of factors that impede this participation, varying between political, social, cultural and even economic obstacles.
