Algeria is undergoing a set of successively political reforms whose authors declare that it aims to promote the democratic rule.

Political reform expresses a set of measures that take place in the political system in order to strengthening its democracy.

This process calls for a conscious awareness of democratic values on the part of the society and basic conditions in the political regime.

The basic conditions of the new democratic system are represented in the constants and political institutions through which the people can achieve their rule and their participation in deciding public policies.

This research aims to measure the Algerian experience in political reform in the balance of liberal democracy, and to discuss its response to realistic requirements in order to strengthen democracy sanctioned by the constitution and the founding principles of the republic.
