Abstract EN

Through this study, we tried to find out the effectiveness of monetary policy in reducing inflationary pressures in Algeria during the period 2008-2019 by diagnosing the reality of inflation as well as monetary policy and its various tools.

however, monetary policy in Algeria remains somewhat ineffective, due to the lack of development of the monetary and financial market in Algeria, in addition to the weak independence enjoyed by the central bank, the study concluded a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity of activating monetary policy tools, especially the open market tool, and granting the central bank greater independence.
