The current study aimed to find out the obstacles to the development of foreign languages in the Algerian educational system, In order to answer the questions of the study, the study tool of the questionnaire on the obstacles to the development of foreign languages was built and applied to a sample of the professors of the middle Education stage of (60) professors in Tlemcen were selected in a non-random intentional manner, Following the steps of the descriptive method, After statistical analysis, it was found that the most important obstacles to the development of foreign languages were: The intensity of the content compared to the time allotted for teaching, the ence of the professor's use of modern teaching methods and strategies, the lack of use of dialogue and simulation in educational activities, the lack of communication in foreign languages within the community to which the student belongs, The findings also found that there were no differences between French and English teachers responses to foreign language development barriers.
