This study seeks to reveal the significance and meanings that women give to the symbols tattooed on their bodies.

the analytical descriptive approach was relied upon, and the study was carried out in Ait Nawal, Akbou and Barbacha, where we interviewed elderly women with multiple tattoos.

the study concluded that the female element abandoned the practice of tattooing of all kinds due to the religious factor that prevents this practice, in addition to the availability of contemporary materials and techniques used for decoration.

the change that affected pottery and textiles is due to the practiced nature that women rely on to transmit various customs, including traditional crafts for girls, without explaining what is permitted and the prohibitions that must be respected.
