In light of the scientific and technological revolution that the world is witnessing, the majority of university and academic institutions have adopted new digital systems in preserving and making available their intellectual assets and transmitting them remotely, through academic digital repositories, which is one of the most important modern methods for preserving the research outputs of universities and managing academic knowledge, in order to serve The educational, research and pedagogical process.

this study aims to put forward the idea of building a digital repository for the university of 20 August 1955 Skikda, in light of the tendency of many national universities to adopt digital repositories in depositing and preserving their intellectual productions and supporting the movement of free access to information, by identifying the readiness of the University of Skikda for the project, by knowing the administrative trends towards the digital repository idea, monitoring and evaluating the available capabilities, relying on the descriptive approach, using the interview and scientific observation to diagnose the reality and readiness of the University of 20 August, 1955, collecting the necessary information on the subject, and providing practical proposals that contribute to the materialization of the repository.
