Abstract EN

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a training program based on the theory of inventive problem solving, known as (Triz) to improve the decision-making skills of students with visual impairment, and the relationship of the effectiveness with disability severity.

the researcher has applied the study tools of decision-making scale for secondary school female students with visual impairment (prepared by the researcher), triz program, (was adapted to suit characteristics of people with visual impairment), to the study sample consisting of all members of the study population, which numbered 20 female students with visual impairments enrolled in secondary school classes in the city of Jeddah, the results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the two study groups : experimental and control, in favor of the experimental group which in turn support the effectiveness of the training program based on the theory of inventive problem solving (Triz) in improving the decision-making skills of female students with visual impairment.

the results of the study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in decision-making skills due to the variable (severity of disability).

the study recommended employing the theory of inventive problem solving, known as (Triz) in the educational process through the inclusion of the principles of Triz theory in the curricula of the ministry of education to enable students to learn to make decisions taking in order to achieve the highest degrees of dependence in all areas of life.
