Abstract EN

The endowment system played a leading role in community development throughout the history of Islamic civilization.

health endowments had a large share of the attention of endowers, so they built hospitals, pharmacies, established research centers, donated books, and gave gifts to students, doctors and patients.

evidence for that is abundant, and with the emergence of the novel corona virus (COVID 19), and its spread throughout the world, efforts have been combined to reduce it and address its effects.

hence, many community volunteer initiatives have emerged under different names, bearing the characteristics of the Islamic Waqf, whose organizers have tried to support the health system in facing this epidemic.

this paper tries to depict these initiatives and adapt them in a jurisprudential manner, so that we put them within one of the Islamic endowment chapters, studied by jurists in the ancient and modern times.

after investigating these voluntary initiatives, we concluded that the controls set by the jurists, for real estate endowment, movable endowment, endowment of benefits or endowment of money can be applied on them.

therefore, we can say that the endowment is permissible, guarantying the sustainability of its benefit for the endower and the endowed as well.
