Abstract EN

Aims : the current research aimed at revealing the relationship between the exposure to bullying and the suicidal ideations in the age stage (15-18) years, along with finding the difference between males and females on the measure of exposure to bullying and on the measure of suicidal ideations.

sample : the study sample consisted of 240 male and female students of age (15-18) years (110 males, 130 females) from several experimental schools in Cairo governorate, Egypt.

tools : the study tools consisted of : the measure of exposure to bullying (prepared by the author), the measure of suicidal ideations in the age stage (15-18) years (prepared by the author), and the personal and social questionnaire (prepared by the author).

results : the results of the research concluded that there is a positive, statistically significant, correlation between the total degree of exposure to bullying and the components of the measure, which are : physical bullying, emotional and psychological bullying, and verbal bullying ; and between the total degree of the scale of suicidal thoughts and the components of the measure, those are suicide at the level of perception, and suicide at the level of desire in the age stage (15-18) years, where the value of the correlation coefficient is 0.328 at the level of significance 0.01.

it was further found that there are no statistically significant differences between the averages of males and females in both physical bullying and verbal bullying, between male and female averages in both emotional bullying and the total degree of the bullying measure at the level of significance 0.01 towards females.

similarly, there are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of males and females on the suicidal ideations in the age stage (15-18) years.
