Abstract EN

This research aims to study the popular joke, and highlight its most important components and types, and its role in releasing people's concerns and alleviating their anguish, and it does not stop there, but goes beyond reform and social orientation.

Joke is associated with a specific time and place; where it is usually active in times of oppression, dictatorship; and one of the conditions for its production is the equality of the one who is cast and of the recipient in term of culture, intelligence and knowledge so that their meaning can be understood, and they are of different types: political, social, sexual and administrative humor.
