Abstract EN

We aim through this study to know the role of the controlling authority in regulating the Algerian media sector through the audiovisual regulating authority that was established under the organic law related to media of 2012.

We also aim to know the legal procedures taken by this authority to control the audiovisual sector in Algeria.

Through this study, we find that the audiovisual control authority is the body that ensures the implementation of the articles of the 2012 media law and the 2014 law related to the audiovisual sector in Algeria.

We also conclude that the audiovisual control authority crosses one of the control mechanisms over the content of the audiovisual media, which ensures the public service, in addition to being an administrative and legal controlling mechanism that grants licenses according to conditions.
