Abstract EN

The research aimed to analyze the content of international websites that focused on the Egyptian economic affairs, especially the issue of floating the Egyptian pound, in order to monitor and analyze the news frameworks, which were followed by global economic sites in dealing with Egypt's financial situation after taking this strategic decision within the Egyptian economic transformation program.

The research focused on three main foreign websites that publish specialized portals in the Arabic language, namely: the British BBC, American CNN, and Russian Russia Today, from November 1, 2016 to December 31, 2019.

The research revealed that there is a correlation between the international dependence of the three international news sites, and the following of impartiality and objectivity in covering the issue of floating the Egyptian pound.

The research also revealed a change in the interest of the three sites in the issue over the course of the study period, as the greatest interest was in the first 13 months following the Egyptian government’s decision to float the pound between November 1, 2016 and December 31, 2017, and then it’s declined in the second year, which focused between January 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018, and then rises again in the third year between January 1, 2019 - December 31, 2019.

“The Economic Results Framework” tops the most used frameworks in the research, followed by “The Responsibility Framework”, then “The National Participation Framework”, and finally “The Human Concerns Framework”
