The terms of reference of the International Criminal Court are numerous in the context of its dedication to international criminal justice.

Extraordinary jurisdiction (through the intervention of the Security Council) and ordinary jurisdiction.

However, the latter is the most effective model of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court in both theoretical and practical terms, all in order contributing to the realization of the true role of international criminal justice and to develop it for the optimal purpose of its existence.

Perhaps, among those terms of reference that stand out the pattern of ordinary jurisdiction exercised by the Criminal Court - defining and limiting its legal scope- reflect both qualitative, personal, temporal, territorial and complementary jurisdiction, not to mention ratione materiae, which is the cornerstone of the work of expansion and extension.

On the merits, in the exercise of the ordinary jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, in particular with regard to the scope ratione materiae of its consideration of many of the most serious and serious international crimes: genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes of aggression.
