During the Roman period, the mountainous regions in north Africa remained outside the control of the roman administration, and most of them enjoyed independence away from the romanization, including the mountain located south of Sétif, recently known as mount Bou Taleb.

the mountainous areas were generally unique with military, economic and social characteristics that distinguished them from the rest of the regions.

in this study, we will try to highlight the economic and military situations that the mount Bou Taleb region witnessed during the roman period.
