Abstract EN

The study aimed to know the extent of the problem of emotional threat (blackmail) among university students, and to identify the gender differences in emotional threat, and the study used a sample of (1859) male and female students divided into (895) male students, 48.1%, and (964) female students.

by (51.3%) of the students of al-Baha university in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia were chosen by the intentional method, and the average age of the sample was (19) years, and a standard deviation was (0.93).

the emotional threat scale “blackmail” was applied to them (prepared by the researcher), and it consists of two images, one for males and one for females, and each image consists of (56) phrases that measure seven dimensions : aggression, psychological anxiety, psychological depression, the act of blackmail, and the resulting effects from it.

and methods of education and methods of Islamic education, and the psychometric conditions (reliability and honesty) were verified, and the reliability coefficient was (0.8), and the honesty coefficient (0.9).

the results of the study reached an answer to its questions about the spread of the problem of emotional threat (blackmail) among male university students in a significant way, and the places of spread were in the areas (Ailwa-al-Makhwah-al-Baha-al-Aqiq-al-Mandaq), these areas are the most prevalent for emotional threat behavior (blackmail), the results of the study also showed significant differences between males and females in emotional threat (blackmail) in the direction of males ; where the results showed that males were more extortionate and more aggressive and depressed than females, while females were more anxious than males.
