Abstract EN

Although the studies of future foresight are given great attention by the developed countries, these studies do not receive equal attention in the Arab countries.

accordingly, the current study came from a main question : to what extent is the interest in future foresight studies in social science studies and research in the Arab world in the period from 1980 to 2021 ? what is its role in development from the reality of these studies ? to answer this question, the study relied on the sample social survey method, the content analysis method, and the bibliometric method, and it relied on a content analysis form for a sample of 144 studies and research.

the study concluded : that the intellectual production of future foresight studies within the framework of social sciences in the Arab world is very weak, and that most of these studies are impressionistic theoretical studies that depend on self-intuitive impressions, and that they contribute to the development of societies.
