Abstract EN

This research project seeks to promote the national furniture manufacturing business, as it targets both designers and manufacturers of contemporary Palestinian furniture.

The aim of this research project is to analytically examine and review the practical applications of one of the proposed models for artistic furniture pieces based on one of the significant periods in Palestinian culture, the Canaanite period.

This research project considers Palestinian furniture designers as well as those in charge of this national business to be able to reach international markets and still be nationally unique through three major methods: remodeling and innovation of symbols of the ancient Palestinian history; through better knowledge and understanding of the modern techniques' capacity as well as the materials' availability that are now within easy reach in the Palestinian markets, ; and through diverting the attention from the notion of competing, especially with the current unfavorable situation and capacities.
