Abstract EN

This study offers a thorough overview of the writings of Arab travelers and geographers on the economic and social conditions of the city of Isfahan during the middle ages.

First, we adress various explanations of its name origins, then we dealt the Muslim conquest of the city and the different historical narratives of that event.

We also dealt with the social and economic situations, forms of religiosity, foods and clothing, and social occasions.

Then, we highlighted the economic status and its main elements: agriculture, industry, trade.
