Abstract EN

There is no doubt that all peoples and tribes of the world have known migration and practiced it, whether inside or outside their home region, as the aim was to ensure security and stability on the one hand, and to provide other life necessities such as food, water and accommodation on the other hand.

migration is a social and historical phenomenon closely linked to the formation and growth of societies and nations, which Algerian society has known throughout the ages, through the coming of many races to it for various reasons.

under the French colonialism, the Algerian people were forced to leave their homeland individually and collectively, according to political, social, cultural and economic factors that characterized that stage.

however, migration to France, especially at the beginning of the twentieth century, remains the milestone in contemporary Algerian social history.

this is especially in light of the profound effects that migration carried on its social structure and political awareness, and its repercussions on the path of the struggle of the Algerian people, in order to liberate from the colonial system and restore its sovereignty and independence.

therefore, the following study aims to present the circumstances that prompted the migration of thousands of Algerians during the colonial era, and the effects it left in various aspects, including openness to other political struggle experiences, the spread of national awareness, as well as the improvement in the economic and social conditions of migrants and their families.
