Abstract EN

The first part of this paper is a main research in comparative literature.

then it aims to apply comparative literature principles on two plays : one international and the other is a subsequent play from Kuwaiti theater that was influenced by the international work.

it is no secret that the Kuwaiti writer Suleiman al-Huzami, when writing the play (the arrival), was influenced by the famous theatrical text (waiting for Godot), written by the Irishman Samuel Beckett, as confirmed by the writer himself.

accordingly, this study attempts to read through the definitions of comparative literature with through these two plays (the arrival) by Suleiman al-Huzami and (waiting for Godot) by Samuel Beckett, and to explore the connection between both works, since they both belong to the theater of the rd.

the study aims to follow the comparative literature approach, committed to attempting to summarize the definitions of comparative literature theory, highlighting to its position among the different critical schools, and applying some of its mechanisms to the two plays, and noting the meeting points in both works, as well as the differences in accordance with the environment of both writers.

the paper also highlights the importance of the experience of Kuwaiti playwright Suleiman al-Huzami in the Kuwaiti, gulf and Arab theater.
