Archaeological stones are exposed to many types of damage, the loss of cohesion of mineral elements is one of the most important reasons that lead to the loss of the original material and the loss of archaeological and technical data, especially on the surface of stones bearing writings, inscriptions or designs.

in recent decades there has been a strong desire to preserve the original archaeological materials, and to this end many techniques and materials have been applied to consolidate the stones.

however, most of them have drawbacks that make them ineffective, including weak and heterogeneous penetration.

penetration is related to several factors, including the type and nature of the stones being treated, the nature of the product used and the method of application, and sometimes the process is related to factors related to the type, degree and spread of the damage.
