Abstract EN

The study of the principles and orientations of Algerian foreign policy towards its neighboring surroundings, stems mainly from the variable that intertwined security issues and the increasing insecurity, and the presence of several other variables such as the duality of threat and survival, which varied between border disputes, geographical proximity and its extensions, the nature of political systems and regional alliances, that link the bordering countries.

these indicators made the foreign policy to reconsider the order of priorities towards its regional environment, and this is what prompts us to address a problem whose variables vary between the effectiveness of the role played by Algeria in containing and managing the neighboring crises and the means used to achieve its goals, and we found through our analysis of the subject that Algeria’s geopolitical position nominated it from being the pivotal player by virtue of the fact that this region deserves the utmost attention.
