The juvenile judge studies the child's personality principally, by means of social research, medical, mental and psychological examinations as well as behavioral control.

He receives all the information and reports relating to the child's situation.

He proceeds by himself or instructs the services of the open environment to conduct a social survey that gathers all the information on the material and moral situation of the family, on the character and the antecedents of the child, his school attendance and behavior and on the circumstances in which he lived and grew up.

The juvenile judge orders, if necessary, a medical, psychological and mental examination, these are necessary measures that precede the verdict and aim to take appropriate measures in favor of the child.
