This research paper aims to highlight the religious dimensions of the popular tale in the Batna region, by building an anthropological approach to one of the popular tales of frequent and noticeable circulation in the research area, namely the story of "Hatem Tay" due to the religious, moral and complex symbolism that characterizes it.

in addition, the folk tales contributed to deepening the sense of belonging to the community, in addition to establishing a series of customs and traditions in the minds of the younger generation, in addition to reflecting those social structures that govern society, thus creating the pattern of social norms and laws inherited between individuals, and this would contribute to deepening the religious, anthropological and symbolic dimension of the popular tale within the collective unconscious of individuals, this is the results we have reached based on the series of research interviews we have conducted we will address its contents in the article.
