Abstract EN

The study dealt with the problem of violence as harming behavior in various ways: verbally, physically, sexually or psychologically, and the extent of its impact on family relations in terms of threatening family security for its continuity and stability, through two sections in each section with two parts.

preventive and curative measures to mitigate its severity on the family, and to maintain family security.

the descriptive approach was used to describe violence and its causes, define family security and highlight its importance.

as for the analytical approach, it was used to link the causes with the results moreover the real understanding to the phenomenon and its sides.

then the study concluded with a set of results and recommendations, the most important of them is that violence weakens interrelationships of family and hinders its vital and inclusive functions.

therefore, the media, guidance centers and school curricula must be used to spread awareness of the culture of tolerance and rejection of violence in all its forms, especially what affects the mental, psychological, physical and social structure of the family.
