The development and management of competences in sports institutions has a great importance; it represents the key to achieve improvement and distinction of performance, as well as the achievement of previously established goals, because it creates an atmosphere of understanding and consistency among workers so that this sports institution ensures its continuity and survival in a world with high competition, and our study aims to know the role of managing and developing human competencies in improving performance within sports institutions, as well as revealing the role of evaluation to fit between the competencies of employees and the positions they occupy And we have used the descriptive approach because it is appropriate for the study, the sample was chosen in an intentional way, which numbered 28 managers.

As for the statistical tools, we used X2 and percentages, and the results of the study were as follows: •The development of human competencies in sports institutions has a pivotal role in raising and improving performance in them.

The process of evaluating human resources is a very important and necessary step in raising the performance of these institutions.
