Abstract EN

The research aims to emphasize the dimensions and aesthetic values of wood, by combining it with the art of hand embroidery to bring about unconventional aesthetic and functional changes for the women's handbag, to reduce the ecological footprint.

to achieve this goal, the experimental and descriptive approaches were used with analysis and application; preparing an evaluation form for wooden samples embroidered with (7) different materials (cotton perlée thread, silk thread, wool thread, string thread, satin thread, beads (pearl), and satin ribbons) for evaluation by specialists from the technical aspects, as well as a questionnaire to evaluate the number of (20) design for women's handbags made of wood and embroidered with the best (4) embroidery materials, as they were evaluated by professionals and consumers from both the aesthetic and functional sides.

the results showed the possibility of embroidering on the laser perforated wood material using different embroidery materials, and determining the best diameter of the holes the circular hollowed out to suit the thickness of the embroidery material used, and the most appropriate embroidery materials used.

it was also found that the designs of embroidered wooden bags have found acceptance by professionals and consumers in both the aesthetic and functional aspects; thus, it was possible to achieve the goal of the research in employing the raw material of embroidered wood to develop new design patterns to enrich the women's handbag to reduce the ecological footprint.
