Some of the phenomena of discourse and communication have received the attention of many scholars, including the phenomenon of “silence” as a communicative system, and a hidden pattern in the discourse that contributes to advancing its movement, and directs the significance in the communicative process.

The context sometimes pushes the speaker into silence when some of the words are spoken.

Silence has dimensions and connotations in the discourse that are formed when the speaker is unable to communicate the meaning, and this is the title of rhetoric.

This is why this study attempts to reveal this term and its eloquence, and it is one of the important terms mentioned in the Holy Qur'an, with reference to the connotations to which it denotes in some discourses.
