Abstract EN

The current study aimed to know the nature of the relationship between the six factors of personality and nomophobia, as well as to reveal the differences in the study variables (the six factors of personality and nomophobia) depending on the variable of sex, the number of years of phone ownership, and knowing the possibility of predicting nomophobia from the six factors of personality.

The study sample consisted of (460) male and female students from Al-Azhar University, including (143) males, (317) females, and their ages ranged from (20-24) years.

The researcher used the nomophobia scale prepared by Yildirim (2014), translated by the researcher, And the Six Factors of Personality Scale “Shortlisted Internationally Arbitrated Multicultural Six Factor Personality Model” translation of the researcher, and the results concluded: There is a positive, statistically significant correlation between the six factors of personality and nomophobia among university students, and there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of a sample The study on the nomophobia scale according to gender in the direction of males in all dimensions of nomophobia, as well as found statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample on the scale of the six factors of personality according to gender in favor of males (conscience, acceptability, honesty, extroversion, authenticity, and total score), while the dimension of flexibility was in favor of females, and there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample on the nomophobia scale according to the number of years of phone ownership, while there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample.

The study sample on the scale of the six factors of personality according to the number of years of phone ownership in the dimensions of (honesty, extraversion, originality, and the total degree) in favor of the number of years of possession less than four years, while there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample on the scale of the six factors of personality according to For the variable number of years of phone ownership in the dimensions (conscience, acceptability, and flexibility), it was also possible to predict nomophobia through low factors of honesty and originality, high factors of conscience and total degree, and the results were discussed in the light of literature and previous studies.
