Abstract EN

If it is said that the fourth century AH is considered the century of maturity of Islamic knowledge, then al-Tawhīdī is the best representative of it.

In the light of studying al-Tawhīdī’s thought through his various writings, I found traces of the existential doctrine in his thought, and this is what I will explain through my study.

In essence, existentialism begins with the ego and ends with the search for original existence and distance from false existence.

al-Tawhīdī was concerned with human existence, his feelings, experiences and aspirations, and he gave priority to the human problem over other problems.

accordingly, it can be said that his philosophy has a human direction that stems from human thought.

through the study of al-Tawhīdī, I will try to discover the situations that he was exposed to and present his views on the most important topics prevalent among all existential philosophers, such as anxiety, despair, and alienation.

these topics were not discussed in traditional philosophy at length.
