الفرار من المعركة من أكبر أسباب الهزيمة، و لذلك حث الشارع و رغب في الثبات، و نهى عن الفرار، و جعله من كبائر الذنوب، ولم يرخص و يبح الفرار إلا في حالات محددة، وهي الانصراف بقصد الانتقال من جهة إلى أخرى، أو لطلب النجدة و الإعانة من قوة خارجية، أو إذا كانت قوة العدو تزيد على ضعف قوة المسلمين، وقد توعد الله تعالى الفارين بالعقوبة الشديدة في الآخرة، أما العقوبة الدنيوية فلم يرد فيها حد و لا كفارة، وهي حق من حقوق الله تعالى، فتكون فيها العقوبة تعزيرية حسب رأي الإمام و اجتهاده.

Fleeing from the battle is one of the greatest causes of defeat, and that is why he urged the street and desired steadfastness, and forbade fleeing, and made it a major sin, and he did not give permission and permission to flee except in specific cases, which are leaving with the intention of moving from one side to another, or to seek help and assistance from an external force.
Or if the strength of the enemy is more than twice the strength of the Muslims, and God Almighty has threatened the fugitives with severe punishment in the Hereafter, as for the worldly punishment, there is no punishment or penance for it.
