This study aims to reveal the graphical images in the poem of al-Azhar by the prince of the poets Ahmed Shawky and how these images varied between metaphor, metaphor, metaphor, and metaphor.

this study also aims to reveal the role of these graphical images in expressing meaning and communicating it to the mind of the listener.

the study also revealed the great ability of Shawqi to use these images in different contexts and to show how Shawqi was creative in portraying al-Azhar as a tall building, depicting its scientists, and demonstrating their prestige and position in the hearts of people.
