Abstract EN

The current research aims to investigate the effectiveness of a program based on acceptance and commitment therapy in reducing alexithymia in blind adolescents and its impact on improving their body image.

the basic research sample consisted of (9) students (5) males, and (4) female blind adolescents in the preparatory and secondary stages, ranging in age from (13-17 Years), at al-Noor school for the blind in (al-Arish).

the current research used the alexithymia scale for blind adolescents (prepared by the researcher), the body image scale for blind adolescents (prepared by the researcher), the therapeutic program (prepared by the researcher), the results of the research concluded that there is a statistically significant negative correlation between alexithymia and body image, there is a statistically significant difference between the average ranks of the members of the therapeutic sample in the on the pre-test and post-test on the alexithymia scale and its dimensions for blind adolescents in the direction of the tribal measurement, there were a statistically significant difference between the mean ranks of the members of the treatment sample in the post-test and remote measurements.

on the body image scale of blind adolescents in the direction of the post-measurement, there is no statistically significant difference between the mean scores of males and females of the treatment sample in the post-measurement on the alexithymia scale and its dimensions for blind adolescents, there was no statistically significant difference between the mean ranks of scores of males and females of the members of the treatment sample in the post measurement on the body image scale for blind adolescents, there was no statistically significant difference between the mean ranks of the members of the treatment sample in the post and follow-up measurements on the alexithymia scale and its dimensions for blind adolescents, there were no statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the members of the sample therapeutic measures in the post and follow-up measurements on the body image scale for blind adolescents, and thus the continuity of improvement and the survival of the impact of the program were achieved.

the results of the research were interpreted in the light of the theoretical framework and previous studies.

in light of the research results, the researcher presented a number of recommendations and research proposals.
