Abstract EN

This study aimed to address family disintegration and its relationship to drug addiction as a correlational study from the viewpoint of experts.

To achieve such a goal, the descriptive approach was used making use of the correlation method, and the study made use of a questionnaire for collecting data.

The study was administered to a sample consisting of (230) faculty members distributed according to the variables of (gender / region / specialization).

The results revealed that the status-quo of family disintegration in Kuwaiti society was average from the viewpoints of the study sample, and that the status-quo of drug abuse was average from the viewpoint of the study sample.

There was also a strong correlation between family disintegration and drug abuse, family disintegration greatly affects resorting to drug abuse, and the results indicated that there are no differences in the responses of the study sample due to the variable of gender or region.

Finally, there were statistically significant differences in their responses due to the variable of specialization in favor of those specializing in psychology and mental health compared to the rest of the disciplines.
