Abstract EN

This research aims to identify mainly the approaches of developing exports of the most significant products of food industries sector in Egypt, and the study relied on published and unpublished data, besides relied on primary data over a survey of the opinion of a numeral of food industry exporters to find out the problems they face and find solutions.

The results showed that a decrease in the numeral of food industry companies in the public sector and an increase it in the private sector over the study period.

It's also displayed increase the percentage of employment in the frozen vegetables industry, juices and beverages industry, besides increase in Net added value of the food industry sector in both public and private sectors.

The results also showed the large absorptive capacity in several markets, such as the Saudi market for frozen vegetable exports, and the American, German markets for frozen strawberry exports.

The results also indicate that the distance is not a problem for exports, as materialized to exports of frozen strawberries, which are exported to China.

By studying the problems related to the manufacture of food industry products and their production costs, the results showed that the two problems of high product costs and the difficulty of specifications set by the Food Safety Authority, both occupies the first rank of the concerns and priorities of exporters of manufactured commodities, while the two problems of the lack of spaces necessary to ship food products by air transportation, and the high costs of air transportation both occupied the first rank of the exporters' concerns.
