The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of the project-based learning strategy in developing generative thinking skills in mathematics among middle school students, it relied on the experimental design with two groups (experimental and control) with two measures (pre and post), and the research was applied to a group of female students in the second year of middle school, whose number was (60) pupils, divided into (30) pupils in an experimental group and (30) pupils in a control group.

the research provided a number of materials and tools represented in the list of generative thinking skills in mathematics, and the student's book in the unit (averages of triangle- isosceles triangle) prescribed for second grade pupils of middle school in the first semester, reformulated according to the project-based learning strategy, and the teacher's guide for teaching a unit (averages of triangle- isosceles triangle) using the project-based learning strategy, and testing generative thinking skills in mathematics, and the results of the research indicated that there are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) between the mean scores of the students of the two experimental groups and the control group.

it is for the benefit of the experimental group in each of the generative thinking in mathematics with its skills (setting hypotheses, predicting in light of the data, fluency, flexibility, and originality), in the post application of each test of generative thinking skills in mathematics.
