The debate in contemporary political philosophy is centered on the theoretical basis of the idea of "political consensus", as John Rawls seeks to examine effective ways to manage the reality of reasonable pluralism among the components of a political society in modern democracies and to establish the elements of his theory of justice in political virtue.

Jürgen Habermas, also, finds its inference to the need for rational management Consultation between competing political forces and the establishment of the foundations of his alternative project characterized by a "Deliberative Democracy”.

On the other hand, "Chantale Mouffe" confirms that such a possibility of Forms of consensus in the political community could not happen given the conflict nature of political relations which are not unacceptable of any political system and the consequences of which are unavoidable for the political action.

It should be noted that "political consensus" is one of the concepts that has imposed itself on the experiment of democratic transition in Tunisia, which requires us to try to show the validity of the concept by returning to its philosophical and theoretical frameworks and making use of the debate around it in evaluating this experience.
