We focus in the paper on the basic project that Arkoun devotes his scientific career to: that is on applied Islamic since the latter is considered as a new theoretical frame through which the Algerian intellectual tried to the overcome the flaws of classical Islamic as perceived in the orientalist chronicle.

In this chronicle, the thinker noticed a trend of selectivity and cold neutrality.

A failure in revealing many sides and dimensions that characterize Islamic culture also noticed while neglecting and disregarding the forms of oral repression, the ours written and spoken non-oral symbolic systems despite their importance.
