Abstract EN

During the period extending from the 2nd to the 6th century Hijrii, the Arab culture centered mainly on exploring and investigating the communicative function of language.

Several linguistic, literary and rhetorical studies established various sets of rules that seek to organize and regulate comprehensibility which is determined, as it has been maintained by these studies, by two major components: the notion of the system and that of cohesion which govern language.

A theory of grammar that addresses the phonological, morphological, lexical and semantic aspects has been elaborated to approach Arabic.

In this context, this paper seeks, indeed, to explore the phonological components of the Arabic language in relation to literary creativity since phonemes are carriers of meaning.

As a matter of fact, linguists, grammarians and rhetoricians have underscored the importance of phonemes to achieve fluency.

Indeed, any creative speaker/writer in literature should demonstrate a good command of the phonological rules that govern the production as well as the comprehensibility of different segments.

This paper seeks then to highlight the importance of phonemes in distinguishing and/or affecting meaning in literary production.
