Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the role of information technology in developing the performance of human resources in Sudanese business enterprises, specifically in the insurance sector, through its application on the branches of insurance companies in Gadarif State in Eastern Sudan.

This is based on a main hypothesis, which assumed that there is a statistically significant relationship between the usage of information technology (hardware, software, and networks) and the development of the performance of human resources (employees’ satisfaction, learning and growth, efficiency of internal operations).The study depended on the descriptive and analytical approach, as well as the case study method.

The data of the study population was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Studies program (SPSS).

The study came out with a set of results including: there is an effect of information technology on developing the employees’ performance due to the presence of a significant effect of its dimensions represented by hardware, software and networks on the development of the human resources performance.

Based on these results, the study offered many recommendations including: the necessity of using and adopting electronic management at all departments and sections levels in business enterprises, since it is the basis for developing employees’ performance, which resulted in raising the efficiency of performance in these enterprises, besides the need of continuously measuring the performance of these enterprises in order to identify their weaknesses and work to rectify them, and identifying their strength and work to enhance them.
