Abstract EN

This research is a survey of the role of narrative symbolism which begins with medieval Arab thought and ends by modern arab thought.

We start historically with Ali Mubarak and his novel Alam al-Din, in which he treated many issues in a symbolic way, such as his rejection of olute royal rule and his preference for restricted property, as well as his criticism of the olute religious authority, .

Then Farah Anton's novel, Religion, Science and Money, in which he tried to spread tolerance among the three cities, as well as his preference for the democratic system over everything else.

Then the novel Al-Wajdiyat by Farid Wajdi, in which the materialist doctrine is contradicted in a symbolic narrative whose goal is to promote the ideal doctrine.

Then Zaki Najib Mahmoud, for whom the symbolic novelist emerged in stories such as: two ants in the pepper, under the foot of the mountain, an elephant egg.

So the renaissance employment of symbolism appeared in the Arab modern thought.
