Heritage tourism aims to attract tourists to visit areas of archaeological and historical nature, folklore sites, festivals and exhibitions.

This type of tourism attracts certain types of tourists who wish to satisfy the desire for knowledge, increase their cultural information, and enjoy the ancient heritage of mankind through museums and heritage places.

In addition to experiencing different peoples with their customs, traditions, arts and values, and although this type of tourism has a demand for many people coming to Egypt, it represents only a small percentage of the movement of cultural and heritage tourism coming to the northwestern coast.

Revitalizing and developing tourism in this region is considered one of the main axes of development in Egypt.

At the same time, it supports the state's plan represented in the third national project in a series of national development projects at the level of the Republic, which was defined by the National Strategic Plan for Urban Development 2052 AD.

This research also supports what the state intends to do in terms of dividing the northwestern coast into two governorates of El Alamein, which includes (El Alamein, Dabaa, Al-Hamam, Fouka, and Matrouh governorate and includes the rest of the areas of the northwestern coast in addition to Siwa Oasis.

The research focuses on introducing the opportunities for cultural tourism and the tangible and intangible heritage in the northwestern coast region.

It is integrated with all other aspects of tourism, especially environmental hospitality and its role in the northwestern coast.

This is what the researchers put in mind.
