Abstract EN

The research mainly aimed to shed light on the use of treated wastewater for cultivating the jojoba crop as one of the most important non-traditional oil crops, in order to identify the profitability of this productive activity and the possibility of expanding the cultivated areas and increasing the quantities produced from jojoba, and the extent of the contribution of unconventional water (treated wastewater) in increasing the total return (increasing the quantity of production-reducing production costs), through the study of sub-objectives.

the research derives its importance and the reasons for choosing its topic from the role that the wastewater treatment process can play to maintain the sustainability of the usable water component, which is a major reason for life for living organisms.

the research relied on descriptive and quantitative statistical analysis methods in data analysis, such as arithmetic averages, percentages, mathematical equations, and others.

the research reached several results, the most important of which are : (1) the use of treated wastewater contributed to reducing the production costs of jojoba acres by about 7.26 thousand pounds / feddan compared to the cost of producing an acre irrigated using groundwater.

(2) the use of treated wastewater to irrigate the jojoba trees in the new valley governorate achieved the highest productivity and net return of the jojoba crop compared to the use of groundwater.

(3) the use of treated wastewater to irrigate jojoba trees in the new valley governorate achieved the highest economic efficiency and for all indicators used compared to the use of groundwater for the same purpose.

(4) the use of treated wastewater to irrigate jojoba trees in the new valley governorate achieved the highest return on the unit of water (m^3) used compared to the use of groundwater for the same purpose.

(5) there are many problems related to the use of water in agricultural activities in general.

the research ended with some recommendations that would expand the use of treated wastewater and plant jojoba trees with a high economic return.
