The main objective of this research is to discuss the growing food gap of wheat, which prompted the government to import huge quantities of wheat from abroad, which increases the problem of the deficit in the trade balance.

(America-France) during the period (2010-2020).

the results showed that the average amount of wheat imports amounted to about 10.906 million tons, with an average value of about 2.8 billion dollars.

dollars represent about 45.46% of the average total value of wheat imports, followed by Ukraine, America and France at about 20.59%, 13.63%, 7.60% of the average total amount of wheat imports.

by studying the factors determining the quantity of wheat imports to Egypt, it was found that 70% of the changes in the quantity received from the world are due to the change in (the quantity consumed of wheat in million tons annually, and the import price in dollars / ton), and by studying the most important determinants of Egypt’s imports of wheat in million tons in the Russian market and it turned out that 71% of the changes in the quantity of wheat imports from the Russian market were due to the change in (Egypt’s population in million people, the import price in dollars / ton at a significant level of 0.01) and (the exchange rate of the dollar) at a significant level of 0.05, as it turned out that 76% of the changes in the quantity of wheat imports from the Ukrainian market attributed to the change in (Egypt’s population in million people at a significant level of 0.01) and (import price in dollars / ton at a significant level of 0.05), while the significance of the rest of the model variables was not proven.
