The idea of this research is based on rejecting the idea of the decadal generation that has been popular in Iraqi criticism since the sixties of the twentieth century, which means that poetic generations reproduce every ten years.

The books written by some poets of the sixties contributed to the consolidation of the idea of the decadal generation, in which they looked at decadal and defended themselves as a poetic generation.

We shill study one of these books, which is (The Loud Wave) by the poet Sami Mahdi, showing the motives behind this desire in the generation, also identify the problems of limiting the generation to themselves.
